Meet the Board

Mary Aranki – President

Hi, I’m Mary Aranki, honored to serve as your Boosters President! I’ve been part of the BASIS community for five years, with a 8th-grade son and an 12th-grade daughter at BASIS Phoenix. Previously active in the PTA at our former district, I’m excited to bring that experience here. My goal is to enhance the school experience through meaningful initiatives that support our students, families, and teachers. I look forward to a fantastic year working together!

Vince Fortanasce – Vice President

This is my third year at BASIS Phoenix. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and served as the 2023 BASIS Golf Coach. I also have a daughter in 8th grade. This year, I hope to help strengthen fundraising efforts for our amazing teachers who give so much to our children. Please also consider donating to the BASIS Annual Teachers Fund — 100% of those contribution goes directly to our teachers.

Arcelie Butterfield – Communications Director

I’m Arcelie Butterfield, thrilled to serve as Communications Director. My 9th-grade son has been part of the BASIS community for years, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. With a background in marketing and communications, I manage the Boosters website, social media, and messaging to keep our community informed and connected. Looking forward to a year of growth and engagement!

Jennifer Brown – Secretary

I am Jennifer, parent to an 8th grader, and I’m thrilled to champion our school community as your Booster Club Secretary! I have been an active volunteer for the past two years, from hosting the Booster’s raffle at our annual Halloween celebration to volunteering for various activities. As a Life and Leadership coach, I am passionate about empowering others to thrive. I bring that same dedication to building a school community that is positive, engaging, and enriching for every student, family, teacher, and staff member.

Olga Ptashnyuk – Treasurer

I have been the Boosters Treasurer for several years and am excited to continue supporting our BASIS Phoenix community. I have an 12th-grade daughter at BASIS Phoenix and bring expertise in finance and budgeting to help ensure our fundraising efforts are successful and impactful. I look forward to another great year of growth and engagement!
