First week of Lunch in the books, upcoming Booster Meeting...
8/13/2023 12:49 pm
Our upcoming Booster meeting is just around the corner, scheduled for August 23, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. We will be gathering in Building J, Room #106, to discuss crucial matters that will shape the path of our school community for the months to come. Agenda items will center around the following:
- Event Schedule: One of the main highlights of the meeting will be to plan and discuss our event schedule for the new academic year. We have an array of engaging and fun-filled events that together with our school administration, will undoubtedly bring our Firebird families closer together. From fundraisers that support our school programs to community-building activities, this is your chance to get involved with the exciting line-up we have prepared.
- Participation: Your presence and involvement at the Booster meeting are invaluable. Your input and ideas will play a vital role in shaping the success of our events and programs. This is an opportunity to voice your thoughts, share suggestions, and actively contribute to the direction our school community takes. Remember, together we can achieve great things.
Lunch: With one week into the lunch program, things seem to be going well!
As a reminder, you are able to order up to 6p prior to the date being ordered as a convenience to you!
I wanted to take a quick moment, especially for those new to our community, to address what to do with ordered lunches when A) lunch was ordered, but the student will not be attending for the day, and B) What to do when lunch was ordered, but there seems to be an error with the order. The first issue (A) is not as pressing as the later one (B), so let’s cover that one first (A):
- A) We can offer credits relatively easily if it is requested prior to the 6p deadline as that is the normal cutoff. Actual refunds can also be done but become a bit more involved as we have to submit to Stripe (our cc servicer), and we still incur the fees associated with the transaction(s). So as a general rule, we highly prefer to give credit for cancelled orders rather than refunds 😊
- B) If for whatever reason (ordered for different day by error, did not press all the buttons, etc.), the student is not on the order list, we encourage that student to speak up, tell the server, and the lunch monitor(s) that there appears to be an issue right away. If the issue is not resolved quickly, please instruct your student to then request to go to the office to retrieve some non-perishable ‘emergency’ food as we do not want any of our students to go hungry by error. We remain in constant communication with the front office to ensure that these situations are kept to a minimum. However, they do happen from time to time, and the most important aspect is that the student(s) know what to do in the situation. Normally (but sometimes after the fact), we are able to determine a reason for this occurrence, and refunds/credits are issued accordingly.
BPhx Gear: If you have purchased gear, you will receive an email when the items are ready to be picked up. We are also looking for new ideas as to what we should design next. Come to the meeting with your ideas!
Once, again, please mark your calendars for August 23, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., and make your way to Building J, Room #106. Your presence matters, and we can't wait to see you there. Your support fuels our efforts, and your commitment is what makes our school community thrive.
Thank you once again for being a part of the Firebird family and for your dedication to our students' growth and success. Let's come together, brainstorm, and make this year our best one yet!
Warm regards,
